张录，城武人。
明史卷二百六 列传第九十四：
张录，字宗制，城武人。正德六年进士。授太常博士，擢御史。嘉靖初，伏阙争“大礼”，下狱廷杖。出按畿辅，劾宣府诸将失事，皆伏辜。西域鲁迷贡狮子、西牛方物，言所贡玉石计费二万三千余金，往来且七年，邀中国重赏。录言：“明王不贵异物。今二狮日各饲一羊，是岁用七百余羊也。牛食刍菽，今乃食果饵，则食人之食矣。愿返其献，归其人，薄其赏，以阻希望心。”帝不能用。
张璁擢兵部侍郎，录与诸御史争之，不听。璁与桂萼屡攻费宏，录言：“今水旱相仍，变异迭出，正臣工修省时。诸人为国股肱，相倾排若此，欲弭灾变，不亦难乎？乞并黜三人，以回天谴。”帝为戒谕璁、萼。后璁以侍郎总台事，修前憾。言录不谙宪体，遂罢归。家居二十年，卒。
