隋书卷七十四 列传第三十九：
弘升字上客，在周为右侍上士。尉迥作乱相州，与兄弘度击之，以功拜上仪同。寻加上开府，封黄台县侯，邑八百户。高祖受禅，进爵为公，授骠骑将军。宿卫十余年，以勋旧迁慈州刺史。数岁，转郑州刺史。后以戚属之故，待遇愈隆，迁襄州总管。及河南王妃罪废，弘升亦免官。炀帝即位，历冀州刺史、信都太守，进位金紫光禄大夫，转涿郡太守。辽东之役，检校左武卫大将军事，指平壤。与宇文述等同败绩，奔还，发病而卒，时年六十。
