宋承庠，江苏华亭人。
清史稿卷四百六十八 列传二百五十五：
宋承庠，字养初，江苏华亭人。由拔贡考取小京官，铨工部。光绪四年，举於乡，迁主事。八年，充总理衙门章京，迁员外郎，转御史。二十六年，巡视京城，联军入，遥望城内火光烛天，自言：“主辱臣死，义无可逃。”疾书一纸遗家人曰：“宗庙宫寝，已付一炬，敌人残忍，不共戴天。读圣贤书，惟有捐躯报国而已。我得死所，妻子勿以我为念。”时已仰药，口不能言，越一日卒。赠四品卿衔。
