元史卷一百九十 列传第七十七：
宇文公谅，字子贞，其先成都人，父挺祖，徙吴兴，今为吴兴人。公谅通经史百氏言，弱冠，有操行。嘉兴富民延为子弟师，夜将半，闻有叩门者，问之，乃一妇人，公谅厉声叱去之。翌日，即以他事辞归，终不告以其故。至顺四年，登进士第，授徽州路同知婺源州事。丁内艰，改同知余姚州事。夏不雨，公谅出祷辄应，岁以有年，民颂之，以为别驾雨。摄会稽县，申明冤滞，所活者众。省檄察实松江海涂田，公谅以潮汐不常，后必贻患，请一概免科，省臣从之。迁高邮府推官，未几，除国子助教，日与诸生辩析诸经，六馆之士，资其陶甄者往往出为名臣。调应奉翰林文字、同知制诰，兼国史院编修官，以病得告。后召为国子监丞，除江浙儒学提举，改佥岭南廉访司事，以疾请老。
公谅平居，虽暗室，必正衣冠端坐，尝挟手记一册，识其编首曰：“昼有所为，暮则书之，其不可书，即不敢为，天地鬼神，实闻斯言。”其检饬之严如此。所著述，有《折桂集》、《观光集》、《辟水集》、《以斋诗稿》、《玉堂漫稿》、《越中行稿》，凡若干卷。门人私谥曰纯节先生。
