孟鸾，字龙儿，不知何许人。坐事充阉人。文明太后时，王遇有宠，鸾以谨敏为遇左右，往来方山，营诸寺舍。由是渐见眷职。
灵太后临朝，为左中郎将、中给事中。素被病，面常黯黑，于九龙殿下暴疾，半身不摄，扶载归家，其夜亡。鸾初出，灵太后闻之，曰："鸾必不济，我为之忧。"及奏其死，为之下泪，曰："其事我如此，不见我一日忻乐时也。"遂赐帛三百匹、黄绢十匹以供丧用。七日，灵太后为设二百僧斋，赐助施五十匹。同类荣焉。
