晋书卷七十八 列传第四十八：
安国字安国，年小诸兄三十余岁。群从诸兄并乏才名，以富强自立，唯安国与汪少厉孤贫之操。汪既以直亮称，安国亦以儒素显。孝武帝时甚蒙礼遇，仕历侍中、太常。及帝崩，安国形素赢瘦，服衰绖，涕泗竟日，见者以为真孝，再为会稽内史、领军将军。安帝隆安中下诏曰："领军将军孔安国贞慎清正，出内播誉，可以本官领东海王师，必能导达津梁，依仁游艺。"后历尚书左右仆射。义熙四年卒，赠左光禄大夫。
