明史卷二百五十八 列传第一百四十六：
垓，字如须，崇祯十三年进士。授行人。埰下狱，垓尽力营护。后闻乡邑破，父殉难，一门死者二十余人。垓请代兄系狱，释埰归葬，不许。即日奔丧，奉母南走苏州。初，垓为行人，见署中题名碑，崔呈秀、阮大铖与魏大中并列，立拜疏请去二人名。及大铖得志，滋欲杀垓甚。垓乃变姓名，逃之宁波。国亡乃解。
