姚宗明，河中永乐人。
宋史卷四百五十六 列传第二百一十五：
姚宗明，河中永乐人也。其十世祖栖云。当唐贞元中，调卒戍边，栖云之父语其兄曰："兄嗣未立，可无往。某幸有子，请代兄行。"遂战没塞上。时栖云方三岁，其母再嫁，栖云养于伯母。既长，事伯母如其母，伯母亡，栖云葬之。又招魂葬其父，痛其父死于边，乃庐于墓次，终身哀慕不衰。县令苏辙以俸钱买地，开阡刻石表之。河中尹浑瑊上其事，诏加优赐，表其门，名其乡曰孝悌，社曰节义，里曰敬爱。
栖云生岳，岳生君儒，君儒生师正。自岳至师正，四世庐墓。五世孙曰厚，六世曰雅，七世曰文，八世曰敬真，九世曰直，十世曰宗明。当庆历初，有司以姚氏十世同居闻于朝，仁宗诏复其家。十一世孙用和，十二世孙士明，十三世孙德。自宗明至德又三世，自庆历以后又五十余年，而其家孝睦不替。
姚氏世为农，无为学者。家不甚富，有田数十顷，聚族百余人。子孙躬事农桑，仅给衣食，历三百余年无异辞者。经唐末、五代，兵戈乱离，而子孙保守坟墓，骨肉不相离散，求之天下，未或有焉。
