清史稿卷四百八十五 列传二百七十二：
吴锡麒，字穀人，钱塘人。性至孝。乾隆四十年进士，授编修。累迁祭酒，以亲老乞养归。主讲扬州安定乐仪书院。锡麒工应制诗文，兼善倚声。浙中诗派，前有朱彝尊、查慎行，继之者杭世骏、厉鹗。二人殂谢后，推锡麒，艺林奉为圭臬焉。著有正山房集。全椒吴鼒尝辑录齐焘、亮吉、锡麒及刘星炜、袁枚、孙星衍、孔广森、曾燠之文为八家四六云。此八家外，有金匮杨芳灿，与弟揆并负时名。
