吴应箕，贵池人。
明史卷二百七十七 列传第一百六十五：
吴应箕，字次尾，贵池人。善今古文，意气横厉一世。阮大铖以附珰削籍，侨居南京，联络南北附珰失职诸人，劫持当道。应箕与无锡顾杲、桐城左国材、芜湖沈士柱、余姚黄宗羲、长洲杨廷枢等为《留都防乱公揭》讨之，列名者百四十余人，皆复社诸生也。后大铖得志，谋杀周镳，应箕独入狱护视。大铖闻，急遣骑捕之，应箕夜亡去。南都不守，起兵应金声，败走山中，被获，慷慨就死。其同时举兵者有尹民兴、吴汉超、庞昌胤、谢球、司石磐、王湛、鲁之玙。
