明史卷二百二十八 列传第一百十六：
梦熊，字男兆，归善人。嘉靖四十年进士。由福清知县入为户部主事，转饷宁夏。改御史，以谏受把汉那吉降，贬郧阳丞。累迁赣州知府，平黄乡贼。迁浙江副使，改永平。万历十七年冬，由山东布政使擢右佥都御史，巡抚贵州。寻改陕西，进右副都御史。以请讨撦力克，与经略洛议相左。廷议方右洛，绌其议不用。会撦力克东归，洛亦还宣、大，乃移梦熊甘肃，与学曾共事。梦熊有胆决，敢任事。会拜反，上疏自请讨贼，帝然之。以六月至灵州，与学曾合。
