南史卷四十九 列传第三十九：
霁，字士湮，九岁能诵《左氏传》。十四居父忧，有至性，每哭辄呕血。家贫，与弟杳、歊励志勤学。及长，博涉多通。梁天监中，历位西昌相，尚书主客侍郎，海盐令。霁前后宰二邑，并以和理称。后除建康令，不拜。母明氏寝疾，霁年已五十，衣不解带者七旬，诵《观世音经》数万遍。夜中感梦，见一僧谓曰："夫人算尽，君精诚笃志，当相为申延。"后六十余日乃亡。霁庐于墓，哀恸过礼，常有双白鹤循翔庐侧。处士阮孝绪致书抑譬焉。霁思慕不已，未终丧而卒。著《释俗语》八卷，文集十卷。
