清史稿卷五百一 列传二百八十八：
继宁，字兑菴。少负义气，有古侠士风。尝出重金赎难女二，为之择配。岁饥，煮粥食饿者。视周田如手足，有缓急恒资之，周田亦弗谢也。晚年为子择师游盘山，踪迹孔昭，得之。邀至其家，令其三子从受业。暇则与周田聚宴歌呼以为乐，然每一念母，虽深夜必驰归，弗能禁也。晚好陶诗，因又自号潜翁。一日，为门人讲孟子尽心章，曰：“此传心法也！”言讫而卒。其弟子私谥曰安节先生。
