刘瑾，吉州人。
宋史卷三百三十三 列传第九十二：
刘瑾，字元忠，吉州人，沆之子也。第进士，为馆阁校勘。沆亡，得褒赠。知制诰张瑰草词，语涉讥贬，瑾泣涕不能食，阖门衰绖，邀宰相自言。朝廷为改书命，黜瑰为州，瑾亦坐衰服入公门罢职。没丧不就官，丐守坟墓。王素为请，以伸孝子之志。诏复职，迁集贤校理、通判睦州，为淮南转运副使。召修起居注，加史馆修撰、河北转运使，拜天章阁待制、知瀛州。坐与世居通问，徙明州。未行，改镇广州。与枢密院论戍兵不合，改虔州。战棹都监杨从先奉旨募兵不至，擅遣其子懋纠诸县巡检兵集郡下，瑾怒责之，遽发悖谬语，懋诉瑾于朝，遂废于家。逾年，复待制、知江州，历福州、秦州、成德军，卒。
瑾素有操尚，所莅以能称，然御下苛严，少纵舍，好面折人短，以故多致訾怨。
