清史稿卷四百八十 列传二百六十七：
刘汋，字伯绳，宗周子。宗周家居讲学，诸弟子闻教未达，辄私於汋。汋应机开譬，具有条理。宗周殉国难，明唐、鲁二王皆遣使祭，荫汋官，汋辞。既葬，居蕺山一小楼二十年，杜门绝人事，考订遗经，以竟父业。有司或请见，虽通家故旧，亦峻拒之。所与接者，惟史孝感、惲日初数人。或劝之举讲会，不应。临卒，戒其子曰：“若等安贫读书，守人谱以终身足矣。”人谱，宗周所著书。所卧之榻，假之祁氏。疾亟，强起易之，曰：“吾岂可终於祁氏之榻？”
