柳字叔惠，亦有名誉。少登清官，历尚书左右仆射。时右丞傅迪好广读书而不解其义，柳唯读《老子》而已，迪每轻之。柳云："卿读书虽多，而无所解，可谓书簏矣。"时人重其言。出为徐、兖、江三州刺史。卒，赠右光禄大夫、开府仪同三司。乔弟乂，始安太守。乂子成，丹阳尹。
