明史卷一百七十四 列传第六十二：
刘昭，全椒人。永乐五年以都指挥同知使朵甘、乌思藏，建驿站。还至灵藏，番贼邀劫，昭败之。进都指挥使，镇河州。宣德二年，副陈怀讨平松潘寇。累进都督同知，移西宁。复镇河州，兼辖西宁。罕东酋札儿加邀杀中官使西域者，夺玺书金币去。命昭副甘肃总兵官刘广讨之。札儿加请还所掠书币，贡马赎罪。帝以穷寇不足深治，命昭等还。
