刘延祐，徐州彭城人。
旧唐书卷一百九十上 列传第一百四十：
弟子延祐，弱冠本州举进士，累补渭南尉。刀笔吏能，为畿邑当时之冠。司空李勣尝谓曰："足下春秋甫尔，便擅大名，宜稍自贬抑，无为独出人右也。"后历右司郎中，检校司宾少卿，封薛县男。
徐敬业之乱，扬州初平，所有刑名，莫能决定，延祐奉使至军所决之。时议者断受贼五品官者斩，六品者流。延祐以为诸非元谋，迫胁从盗，则置极刑，事涉枉滥，乃断受贼五品者流，六品已下俱除名而已。其得全济者甚众。
出为箕州刺史，转安南都护。岭南俚户，旧输半课，及延祐到，遂勒全输。由是其下皆怨，谋欲将叛，延祐乃诛其首恶李嗣仙。垂拱三年，嗣仙党与丁建、李思慎等，遂率众围安南府。时城中胜兵不过数百，乃禁门坚守，以候邻境之援。广州大族冯子猷幸灾乐祸，欲因危立功，遂按兵纵敌，使其为害滋甚。延祐遂为思慎所害。其后桂州司马曹玄静率兵讨思慎等，擒之。尽斩于安南城下。
胤之从父兄子藏器，亦有词学，官至宋州司马。藏器子知柔，开元初，为工部尚书。知柔弟知几，避玄宗名改子玄。自有传。
