宋史卷二百七十四 列传第三十三：
刘审琼，涿州范阳人。家素贫。汉乾祐中，湘阴公镇彭门，审琼始隶帐下。周祖受命，遁去，依永兴军节度刘词，颇委任之。词卒，属太祖节镇，给事左右。及受禅，补殿直。从平泽、潞，改供奉官。
开宝中，累迁至军器库使。会枢密使李崇矩门人郑伸击登闻鼓，诬告崇矩受太原席羲叟黄金，私结翰林学士扈蒙，以甲科私羲叟，引审琼为证。上怒，召审琼诘问，审琼具言其诬枉，得解，遂出知镇州。七年，太宗征河东，驻跸月余，储□无阙，迁领檀州刺史、知潭州。州素多火，日调民积水为防，民甚劳之。审琼至，悉罢之，以为民便。徙知河阳。淳化三年，受代归，陈衰老，乞正受郡符。上闵其旧人，授坊州刺史。至道三年，卒于官。
审琼尝给事外诸侯，雅善酒令博鞠，年八十余，筋力不衰，髭发黳黑。孙爽，进士及第，后为祠部员外郎、秘阁校理。
