清史稿卷四百九十七 列传二百八十四：
刘宗洙，字长源，弟恩广，字锡三，湖北襄城人。父汉臣，明季从军。襄城破，被数创，几殆。恩广两耳断，号泣负以归。宗洙方走避寇，闻父难，往赴，贼截其耳鼻。居数年，父病，尝粪，时称襄城“尝粪孝子”。父歾，与季弟宗泗同居，俄与恩广皆得官，以母老不出。母歾，恩广呕血至笃疾。或慰解，曰：“勿复言，五内裂矣！”遂卒。宗洙积哀兼痛弟，亦呕血卒。
