宋史卷二百五十三 传第十二：
冯继业字嗣宗，大名人，父晖，朔方节度，封卫王。继业幼敏慧，有度量，以父任补朔方军节院使，随父历邠、孟，及再领朔方，皆补牙职。周广顺初，晖疾，继业图杀其兄继勋。晖卒，遂代其父为朔方军留后。以郊祀恩，加灵州大都督府长史，迁朔方节度、灵环观察、处置、度支、温池榷税等使。
恭帝时，继业既杀兄代父领镇，颇骄恣，时出兵劫略羌夷，羌夷不附，又抚士卒少恩，继业虑其为变，以太祖居镇日常得给事，乃豫徙其孥阙下。
建隆初，来朝，连以驼马、宝器为献。开宝二年，赐诏奖谕，拜静难军节度使。三年，改镇定国军，吏民立碑颂其遗爱。太平兴国初来朝，封梁国公，留京师。明年，卒，年五十一，赠侍中。
