侯廷训，乐清人。与张璁同郡，同举进士，而持论不合。初释褐，即上疏请考孝宗，且言不当私藩邸旧臣，语最切直。除南京礼部主事。嘉靖三年冬，“大礼”定，廷训心非之。私刊所著议礼书，潜寄京师，下诏狱拷讯。子一元，年十三，伏阙讼冤，得释。后起官至漳南佥事。以贪虐，被劾为民。一元举进士，官至江西布政使。
