余深，福州人。
宋史卷三百五十二 列传第一百一十一：
余深，福州人。元丰五年，进士及第。崇宁元年，为太常博士、著作佐郎，改司封员外郎，拜监察御史、殿中侍御史，试辟雍司业。
累官御史中丞兼侍读。治张怀素狱，事连蔡京，与开封尹林摅曲为掩覆，狱辞有及京者辄焚之。京遂力引深与摅骤至执政。大观二年，以吏部尚书拜尚书左丞。三年，转中书侍郎；四年，转门下侍郎。京既致仕，深不自安，累疏请罢，乃以资政殿学士知青州。
政和二年，京复赴都堂治事，于是深复入为门下侍郎。七年，拜少宰。宣和元年，为太宰，进拜少保，封丰国公。再封卫国，加少傅。时福建以取花果扰民，深为言之，徽宗不悦。遂请罢，出为镇江军节度使、知福州。靖康初，加恩特进、观文殿大学士。故事，凡仆射、使相、宣徽使皆判州府，深以少傅、节度知福州，有司失之也。
深谄附蔡京，结为死党。京奸谋诡计得助多者，深为首，摅次之。言者累章劾深，深益惧，丐致仕。建炎二年，降中大夫，临江军居住。寻以渡江赦恩，还乡里，卒。子日章，亦以言者罢徽猷阁待制。
