宋史卷四百四十九 列传第二百八：
何充，汉州德阳人。秘书监耕之孙。通判黎州，摄州事，预为备御计。及宋能之至，建议急于邛崃创大小两关仓及砦屋百间，亲督程役。俄关破，充自刺不死，大军帅呼之语，许以不杀。充曰："吾三世食赵氏禄，为赵氏死不憾。"帅设帟幄环坐诸将，而虚其宾席，呼充曰："汝能降，即坐此。"充踞坐地求死，遂罢。它日又呼之，欲辫其发而髡其顶。曰："可杀不可髡。"又使署招民榜，充曰："吾监州也，可聚吾民使杀之耶？即一家有死而已，榜必不可署。"大将遗以酒茗羊牛肉，皆却之。自是水饮绝不入口。敌知其不可强，将剐之，大将曰："此南家好汉也，使之即死。"于是斩其首。
充妻陈骂不绝口。初，充之见呼也，陈必以一家往。帅曰："不呼汝，何以来？"陈曰："吾求死尔。"及充死，东望再拜曰："臣夫妇虽死，可以对赵氏无愧矣。"众以石击杀之。
方充夫妇之婴祸也，亲戚劝其苟免，充正色曰："我夫妇与儿妇义同死，汝等自求生可也。"于是上下感泣，愿同死者四十余人。男士麟、孙驹行、从子仲桂先充而死，惟长子士龙得免。
