任瑗，淮安山阳人。
清史稿卷四百八十 列传二百六十七：
任瑗，字恕菴，淮安山阳人。年十八，弃举子业，讲学。静坐三年，叹曰：“圣人之道，归於中庸，极於‘精义入神以致用也，利用安身以崇德也’，岂是之谓哉？”乾隆元年，大吏举瑗应博学鸿词，廷试罢归。韩梦周语人曰：“任君体用具备，有明以来无此钜儒。”及韩将北归，瑗语之曰：“山左人多质直，君当接引后进，以续正学。”因作反经说以示之。年八十二，卒。著有纂注朱子文类一百卷，论语困知录二卷，反经说一卷，阳明传习录辨二卷，知言劄记二卷，朱子年谱一卷。
