任瀚，南充人。
明史卷二百八十七 列传第一百七十五：
任瀚，字少海，南充人。嘉靖八年进士。改庶吉士，未上，授吏部主事。屡迁考功郎中。十八年，简宫僚，改左春坊左司直兼翰林院检讨。明年，拜疏引疾，出郭戒行，疏再上，不报，复自引还。给事中周来劾瀚举动任情，蔑视官守。帝令自陈，瀚语侵掌詹事霍韬。帝怒，勒为民。久之，遇赦，复官致仕。终世宗朝，中外屡荐，不复用。神宗嗣位，四川巡抚刘思洁、曾省吾先后疏荐，优旨报闻而已。瀚少怀用世志，百家二氏之书，罔不搜讨。被废，益反求《六经》，阐明圣学。晚又潜心于《易》，深有所得。文亦高简。卒年九十三。
