晋书卷九十 列传第六十：
丁绍，字叔伦，谯国人也。少开朗公正，早历清官，为广平太守，政平讼理，道化大行。于时河北骚扰，靡有完邑，而广平一郡四境乂安，是以皆悦其法而从其令。及临漳被围，南阳王模窘急，绍率郡兵赴之，模赖以获全。模感绍恩，生为立碑。迁徐州刺史，士庶恋慕，攀附如归。未之官，复转荆州刺史。从车千乘，南渡河至许。时南阳王模为都督，留绍，启转为冀州刺史。到镇，率州兵讨破汲桑有功，加宁北将军、假节、监冀州诸军事。时境内羯贼为患，绍捕而诛之，号为严肃，河北人畏而爱之。绍自以为才足为物雄，当官莅政，每事克举，视天下之事若运于掌握，遂慨然有董正四海之志矣。是时王浚盛于幽州，苟晞盛于青州，然绍视二人蔑如也。永嘉三年，暴疾而卒，临终叹曰："此乃天亡冀州，岂吾命哉！"怀帝策赠车骑将军。
