南史卷五十八 列传第四十八：
黯，字务直，性强正，少习经史，位太府卿。侯景济江，黯屯六门，寻改为都督城西面诸军。时景于城外起东西二土山，城内亦应之，简文亲自负土，哀太子以下，躬执畚锸。黯守西土山，昼夜苦战。以功授轻车将军，加持节，卒于城内。初，黯为太仆卿，而兄子粲为左卫率，黯以常怏怏，谓人曰："韦粲已落骅骝前，朝廷是能用才不？"识者颇以此窥之。
