旧唐书卷一百八十五下 列传第一百三十五：
蒋沇，莱州胶水人，吏部侍郎钦绪之子也。性介独好学，早有名称。以孝廉累授洛阳尉、监察御史。与兄演、溶，弟清，俱以干局吏事擅能名于天宝中。长史韩朝宗、裴迥咸以推覆检勾之任委之，处事平允，剖断精当，动为群僚楷式。乾元后，授陆浑、盩厔、咸阳、高陵四县令。当军旅之后，疮痍未平，沇竭心绥抚，所至安辑。副元帅郭子仪每统兵由其县，必诫军吏曰："蒋沇令清而严干，供亿故当有素，士众得蔬饭见馈则足，无挠清政。"其为名人所知如此。
稍迁长安令、刑部郎中、兼侍御史，领渭桥河运出纳使。时元载秉政，廉洁守道者多不更职，沇以故滞于郎位，久不徙官。
大历十二年，常衮以群议称沇屈，擢拜御史中丞、东都副留守。寻迁刑部侍郎、删定副使。改大理卿，持法明审，号为称职。
建中元年冬，銮驾幸奉天，沇奔行在，为贼候骑所拘执，欲以伪职诱之，因绝食称病，潜窜里闾间。京师平，首蒙旌擢，拜右散骑常侍。寻以疾终，年七十四，追赠工部尚书。
