宋史卷四百四十九 列传第二百八：
秦钜字子野，丞相桧曾孙。通判蕲州。金人犯境，与郡守李诚之协力捍御。求援于武昌、安庆，月余，兵不至。策应兵徐挥、常用等弃城遁。城破，钜与诚之各以自随之兵巷战，死伤略尽。钜归署，疾呼吏人刘迪，令火诸仓库，乃赴一室自焚。有老卒见烟焰中著白战袍者，识其钜也，冒火挽出之。钜叱曰："我为国死，汝辈可自求生。"制衣就焚而死。次子浚先往四祖山，兵至亟还，与弟氵翚从父俱死。特赠钜五官、秘阁修撰，封义烈侯，与诚之皆立庙蕲州，赐额褒忠，赠浚、瀈通直郎，赙以银绢各二百。
州学教授阮希甫赠通直郎，防御判官赵汝标、蕲春主簿宁时凤、录事参军兼司户杜谔俱赠承务郎，监蕲州都大监辖蕲口镇仓库严刚中赠承事郎。
时统制官孙中，小将江士旺、陈兴、曹全、兵卞，军士李斌等皆斗死。司理参军赵与裕先率民兵百余人夺关出外求援，仅以身免，而全家十六人皆没。淳祐十二年，特封钜义烈显节侯。黄州之陷，守臣何大节亦投江死焉。
